The intricacy and plasticity of oncogenic signalling networks has emerged as an inevitable mechanism of acquired resistance to targeted cancer therapies. One such mechanism is the sustained activation of oncogenic translation programs due to dysregulation of translational factors. Conceptual progress in the last decade has added to the oncogenic stature of translational factors. In light of this, we have deciphered a close integration of MNK1 and mTORC1 signals that activate Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor (eIF4E) to regulate the physiological state of the cell by synchronizing protein translation with cancer cell progression. We believe that translational dysregulation endows functional diversity of tumorigenesis to regulate cancer cell proliferation and unabated cell division in tandem. We aim in understanding and targeting the oncogenic translational network that selectively influences the tumor cell survival. Our work focusses on:
- Piercing the dark matter for visualizing the chaos of cancer cell.
- Providing snapshots of stable and transient interactions of mTOR signalling pathway to expand our understanding of mTOR biology.
- Identification of robust genetic relationships selectively influencing tumor cell survival for converting malignancies to benignity.
- Identification of newer targets to diversify chemo-therapeutic platform for making Cancer Vaccines.
